How does a full spectrum bulb combat seasonal affective disorder?

In the winter months the amount of sun light our body's absorb is limited, which in turn affects out hormones, some more than others. The hormone that induces sleep is called melatonin, when a lack of sun light is absorbed thou the eyes this hormone is over active changing your mood. Full spectrum light suppresses the production of melatonin.

Dr. Fritz Hollwich, from the university Eye hospital in Munster, discovered that only approximately 25% of light is absorbed thro our eyes is used for vision, however the other 75% travels via the optic pathways to the brain and the hypothalamus, the part of the body that controls your hormones, nervous system and endocrine system and much more.

Our Full Spectrum Light bulbs have a colour equivalent to noon day light and use 75% less energy than regular bulbs which also produce excellent colour for reading.
